Based on the analysis of long and short's stress, strain and the drill rig's power consumption under the same conditions, the conception of the non-rod drill rig was put forward. The structure of non-rod drill rig was introduced and the structure of the cutting unit of non-rod drill rig was expanded on. The adjusting process of the friction self-locking bearing mechanism, the reliability of the friction self-locking function, the deformation of the hole pressed by non-rod drill rig's mechanical bearing mechanism were simulated, the conclusion that the structure of the non-rod drill rig is reasonable, that its operation is dependable, and that the form of the hole can't be destroyed, was jumped to. Several problems to be further studied were pointed out.
