摘要

This paper aims to design a novel B-pillar structure with carbon fiber composite to realize lightweight. On the basis of the proper simplified FE model of B-pillar built in this research and the side impact simulation in accordance with the "Automotive Side Impact Occupant Protection", an optimal design project, which was 16.3% lighter than the conventional one, was obtained by project design and screening, project optimization and verification. Finally It has been shown from the experiment that the carbon fiber composite can be applied to B-pillar if rational parameters were used.
