The response of various thermal battery performance parameters to changes in material properties are quantified via thermal simulations. Simulations of this type can help engineers prioritize measurements, set their required precision, and avoid unnecessarily stringent specifications for vendor-provided materials. Options for defining inputs and measuring responses are discussed. Examples of sensitivity studies on model batteries are used to demonstrate the utility of this approach.
