The use of modern methods of synthesizing controllers (control devices) often encounters difficulties in their technical implementation due to the fact that the synthesis process results in automatic control systems (ACS) that are sensitive to variations in object parameters (parametrically non-robust). This is often due to the presence of zeros and poles closely located to each other in the transfer function of the object model. The present study is devoted to developing an approach aimed at evaluating the possibility of obtaining robust ACS. The modal control method was used to synthesize controllers, ensuring the set quality of ACS processes based on information regarding the vector of controlled object condition. The possibility of obtaining robust ACS was evaluated using a controllability matrix. The proposed method differs from known ones in that only those manipulations are used with the controlled object model that are necessary for controller synthesis. This significantly simplifies the process of evaluating the possibility of obtaining an ACS that is sensitive to controlled object parameter variations.
