The contact layer parameters(resistivity, thickness, dielectric constant, etc.) depend on many factors like materials, surface treatment, applied pressure etc. Corrosion also plays an important role on its performance. In some cases, a contact layer can be treated as a layer of resistive materials with certain thickness. The contact layer parameters can be extracted and be integrated into circuit and 3D analysis. Leakage power from a contact layer is directly related to the contact resistance and is affected by the contact layer thickness more at high frequencies than at low frequencies. At high frequencies the contact impedance is not only dependent on the direct contact between metals but also other surrounding factors such as components dimensions. Different cases are studied for a differential pair and it is shown that how components dimensions affect the impedance.
