This study presents the performance evaluation of medium voltage induction motor drive, which is designed by a 4-level cascaded multilevel inverter (C-MLI) and a 30-pulse AC-DC converter. This topology has cascaded configuration to attain 4-level inverter output voltages. Here, the multi winding transformers (MWT) have multiphase output and phase shifted technique to enhance the number of pulse in the grid side current for valuable power quality at the grid end. A 30-pulse rectification is utilized to ameliorate the power quality at the grid side. A modified carrier-based LSPWM technique is used to enhance the performance of the MLI at low switching frequency. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the presented 400hp induction motor drive in steady state and dynamic state conditions.
