£oThe third-order nonlinear optical properties of chalcohalide glasses were measured using a modulated Z-scan. GeS2-Ga2S3-KBr samples did not show any evidence of nonlinear absorption,while GeS2-Ga2S3-PbI2 samples showed notable nonlinear absorption due to two-photon absorption.All samples showed substantial refractive nonlinearity n2 which are 5.2×10 -6 cm 2 /GW and 8.2×10 -6 cm 2 /GW for samples in the GeS2-Ga2S3-KBr and GeS2-Ga2S3-PbI2 systems, respectively.
