Increasing amounts of magnesium and ist alloys are being used not only in car industry. Weight reductions is the main goal for this development. One of the central points is the capability of producing the required components. Therefore cooling lubricants are used in order to achieve high qualitiy on the finisched components and low productions costs. The question is which types of cooling lubricants can be used for the machining of magnesium and ist alloys and what requirements must they fulfill.
