Infrared detection is widely used in temperature measurement of exceptional temperature in axle, which is the key to the accident rate reduction in railways. In this paper, a noncontact detection system is proposed based on an uncooled InfraRed Focal Plane Arrays (IRFPA) detector. Combining an embedded signal processing system and the infrared images of axle boxes, the temperature of axle boxes can be analyzed and calculated; what's more, image local storage and measurement results transfer can be achieved as well. This paper mainly focuses on the system design, which includes the structure analysis, parameter calculation and selection. It also gives the driven circuit of detector and embedded system design results.
