In this paper, we demonstrate characterization of chirp fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) sensor using a hot-tip probe method for determination of physical length (i.e. position) and the corresponding reflected wavelength within the CFBG spectrum. This calibration of CFBG plays an important role in various applications such as high-speed velocity sensor, detonation velocity measurement etc. This scheme provides the relationship between CFBG length and reflected wavelengths which is the principle on which a CFBG functions as a sensor for velocity estimation.
