Requirements and standards in relationship of international cooperation

Since 2012 the ISO/TC 195 Building construction machinery and equipment is leaded together by SAC (Standardization Administration of China) and DIN (German Institute for Standardization e. V.) on the basic of a twinning arrangement In an alternating procedure the leading secretary and the function of the chairperson is changing in a 3 year period. Germany is represented by Mr. Kampmeier (secretary, VDMA) and Mr. Hartdegen (chairman, BG BAU). Since many years both have also the same function in CEN/TC 151 Construction equipment and building material machines - Safety. We see in the close cooperation with the Chinese representatives a lot of new possibilities to realize, law based requirements (e. g. machine directive 2006/42/EC) of the EU, under the "Vienna Agreement" on an international level. This worldwide harmonisation is a huge step forward from the ecological and economical viewpoint, but also for a worldwide high level of safety requirements. But this project is also a big challenge. It will be reported about the different phases, experiences and future prospects.
