In this paper, a novel approach for analyzing the synchronization stability of coupled dynamical networks via impulsive control is proposed. It is shown that a single impulsive controller can always pin a given complex dynamical network to a homogenous solution, provided the coupling strength been properly selected. A generic criterion for pinning impulsive synchronization for such a network is also established. It turns out that the presented controller is rather simple and effective compared with some existing pinning impulsive strategies. Subsequently, the results are illustrated by a typical Barabási-Albert coupled dynamical network. Numerical simulations are finally given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology.
