摘要

Physical models can be used to simulate the dynamic behaviour of PEM fuel cells.For instance,the membrane of a PEM fuel cell system is one component that shows dynamic behaviour and strongly influences the overall system performance.For control purposes,the solution of a model has to be accurate but computationally realizable.In this paper,a dynamic membrane model from literature is investigated.It can be formulated as a partial differential equation (PDE) for the membrane water content which has to be solved as a two point boundary value problem.This can be done very effectively by spectral methods.In contrast to standard finite difference or finite element schemes,the system of equations that has to be solved is now of a low order.Thus,spectral methods can be used for generating control relevant models.The solution of the membrane model with spectral methods is compared to a high order finite element solution.
