In recent years fuel cell technology has been featured as innovative energy technology.This year we link fuel cells to a sustainable energy future.Energy problems cannot be solved by replacing gasoline by hydrogen or by putting fuel cells into automobiles.We have to view the fuel cells as efficient converters of fuels from fossil or biological origin into electricity.Our common goal is the establishment of energy sustainability.Fuel cells will play an important role in a sustainable world.Needless to say,fuel cells that meet the sustainability criteria should receive the highest attention with respect to publicly funding,demonstration program,research activities and academic training.
