摘要

This paper investigastes the application of automatic control techniques in order to regulate the water storage in unsaturated soils. The distribution of the water into the soil is governed by the well known Richards model whose application in control is very complicated due to its non linear parameter distributed structure. In order to elaborate general and simple control laws, a simplified model based on superposed reservoirs is proposed and the applied control technique, based on the Generalized Predictive Control method, is presented.
