The Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and marine research,Bremerhaven Germany,is the owner of the aircraft "Polar 2" (D-CAVI) and "Polar4" (D-CICE).These do 228 planes are research platforms for geophysical,meteorological and remote sensing measurements in both polar regions.They also provide logistical support for certain expeditions.
