Structured Modeling for Solving Complex Problems

摘要

The paper discusses the opportunities and challenges of model-based support for complex problem solving. It summarizes the basic elements of modern decision making, including the context of model-based decision-making support, concepts of rationality, arid treatment of various types of uncertainty, as well as some of the pitfalls of the traditional Operations Research approaches. The structured modeling approach applied to modeling complex problems is outlined, and the structured modeling technology is briefly summarized.
