Regulations about VOC emissions was considerably reinforced in Europe in 1999. French company Gaz de France developed two new thermal VOC oxidisers in partnership with manufacturers in order to propose to industrialists equipment adapted to their problems,. 1. An oxidiser dedicated to processing waste with low flow rates, with the French manufacturer Pillard 2. a concentrating-oxidiser adapted to processing waste slightly concentrated, with the German manufacturer Saacke These two products have been tested at the Research and Development Division of Gaz de France. Gaz de France also undertook work on the drying and the incineration of sludge, also on the vitrification of waste resulting from fume treatment, thanks to the knowledge and competences acquired on the environmental problems in industry (expertise, experimentation, simulation).
