Intracellular flux analysis was made to study the metabolism of pyruvate fermenation using Torulopsis glabrata IFO 0005 under different aeration conditions. With the fluxes calculated, key metabolic pathways were analyzed and compared in detail for cultures at various DO concentrations. Low ATP yields of many cases indicastes that most energy generatd was consumed by some non-biosynthesis related functions in metabolism. Total energy requirement for metabolism and intracellular redox balance were also considered.
