Assessment of the energy based similitude for flexural plates

摘要

In this paper a preliminary procedure for using a finite element model to predict the damped structural response at decreasing wavelegths is discussed and analysed. The procedure is based upon a scaling of the linear dimensions, not involved in the energy transmission, of a finite element model and in an proper increase of the damping loss factor in order to allow a reading of the energy content.
