The normal operation of the rotating machinery is of great importance in industrial production. The fault diagnosis technology has gained a lot of attention. However, for the traditional envelope analysis, the parameters of bandpass filter is usually determined by the artificial experience. To provide a theoretical basis for filter parameters setting, this paper proposes a new method of constructing a matched filter based on spectral kurtosis and three-order cumulants. The three-order cumulants of the signal is used to eliminate the Gaussian white noise effectively; and the spectral kurtosis of diagonal slice of three-order cumulants is calculated; finally, construct a matched filter to detect fault characteristic Experiment results showed that the proposed method was available for fault diagnosis of rolling bearing and the efficiency of the method has been verified using practical examples.
