The approach and design of the system of precision positioning of unmanned vessel are discussed in paper. Vessel positioning is implemented by placing of series of transponders along the coastal line and mooring piers. At the same time the reading devices are placed on board of the vessel. The system measures the distances between antenna of each available transponder and antenna of each reader with high accuracy. The distances determination is based on measurements of phase progressions at microwave propagation in system links. The accuracy of distance determination depends on microwave length and one is determined by its fractions. Really the accuracy can reach the value in 10 mm and better. The system operation range is up to 1 km. System has no so called “dead zone”. The phase measurements are carried out in low frequency band after homodyne microwave signal conversion.
