The application of intelligent service robots is proliferating in our daily life. In-depth research about interactions between humans and intelligent robots is thus highly required. As the current study noted widely, the discrepancy between user perception and the robot’s actual capability would diminish user experience. Therefore, reasonably expressing robot capability has become a significant problem in designing the interaction mode of robots. This paper investigated the impact of different interaction modes on the user’s perceived capability through simulating HRI in the restaurant scenario. We found in the experiment that the perceived capability surpasses actual capability would not decrease user experience under this context. Furthermore, we analyzed essential factors that affect user experience, served as references for future robot interaction design.
