Aiming at the problem of the heavy curtailment of wind and solar power under the high permeability of renewable energy, a dynamic reconfiguration strategy for improving the distribution network’s ability of accepting renewable distributed generation (RDG) is proposed. Firstly, according to the predicted unconstrained output of RDG, static reconfiguration is carried out with the goal of maximizing output of RDG in each unit time period, and multiple optimal network structures in each period are extracted to form an optimal switch set to expand the search space. Secondly, the concept of reconfiguration effectiveness is proposed based on the amount of increase in the average output of RDG, which guides the dynamic partition of time intervals. At the same time, in order to satisfy the constraint of switching operation times, the selection of the optimal network structure is carried out during dynamic partition of time intervals, and the improved bacterial foraging algorithm (IBFA) based on adaptive adjustment of optimization direction is proposed to solve this problem. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the modified PG&E69-bus system.
