Popularity of Current Technology Trends in Arab Countries

摘要

This paper provides an overview of the popularity of some state-of-the-art technology trends in Arab countries. Technology trends include artificial intelligence, internet of things, 5G mobile networks, edge computing, quantum computing, and blockchain. The study is done utilizing Google trends search data for these technologies over a period of five years. Data are gathered as time series. The study shows that most of the current technology trends are not popular in most of the Arab countries which leads to a technological gap with the rest of the world. The United Arab Emirates shows that the current technology trends are popular among their people compared to other Arab countries.
