On cyclic codes of length 8p~s over F_pm + uF_pm

In this paper, we establish the algebraic structure of all cyclic codes and their duals of length 8p~s over the chain ring F_p~m + uF_p~m by considering three cases: p~m = 1 (mod8), p~m = 5 (mod8) and p~m = 3 (mod4). We also find out the number of codewords in each of these cyclic codes. Besides this, we list some self-dual cyclic codes of length 8p~s over F_p~m + uF_p~m. Also we determine μ-constacyclic codes length 8p~s over F_p~m + uF_p~m by establishing a one to-one correspondence between cyclic and μ -constacyclic codes.
