ADVANCES IN P0ST-TENS10N1NG IN NORTH AMERICA

The use of post-tensioning (PT) in North America has grown rapidly in the last 30 years. This is due in part to many new innovations and improvements in the state-of-the-art technology. Included are advances in materials, PT systems, equipment, design, construction, repair, non-destructive evaluation, and corrosion protection. This paper will highlight some of the key developments that have led to this growth, and give examples of new and creative applications of post-tensioned concrete.
