In nature,multi-intra/intermolecular interactions with target species are used toachieve purposeful molecular recognition.Inspired by the natural system,fundamental and application studies of molecular recognition chemistry have beenvigorously performed for over half a century since the discovery of crown ethers.Oneof the achievements is a chemical sensor,which can amplify the recognitionphenomena at the molecular level to the visible level.However,the chemical sensorthat fully meets the requirement for real sample analysis is still at the frontier.Thus,aparadigm shift is necessary torealize the real-worldapplications of chemical sensorsbased on molecular recognitionchemistry.By using the power ofsupramolecular chemistry,Ihave carried outcross-hierarchical andcomprehensive study coveringfrom the design of artificialreceptors to the fabrication oforganic devices (Figure 1).Herein,I summarize my recentprogress for discrimination oftarget analytes in real samples,and realization of chemicalsensor devices for on-siteanalysis.
