It can also be used for many other outdoor applications traditionally performed with a tape measure, wheel or string line. Our innovative design uses a magnetic detachable PUCK style GPS antenna that is the primary sensor for determining the location of the post hole etc. This method sets us aside from existing high precision GPS devices. The PLS product will save many hours of tedious labour which in the past has involved setting out using tape measures, measuring wheels, string lines, paint markings & pegs. The ability to be able to do this down to an accuracy level of +/-2.5cm for a much lower cost will benefit many trade personnel and contractors. The process of marking out one or multiple holes, pushing tracks through the bush or digging long irrigation trenches etc. will be a much simpler process by simply selecting the start, finish, grade or number of holes and then press go. The PLS will then guide you to your hole or grade line for example. Other tools to compliment this device such as mobile phone or PDA apps will also be produced allowing you to visually bring up maps, display your location and peg sites. PC based mapping software will also allow you to pre-mark out the job before attending the site and then save your data to a USB stick which is loaded into the PLS onsite.
