摘要

Light alkanes such as methane and ethane are major constituents of natural gas.Socialdemands for the development of novel efficient catalysts that can convert light alkanes intomore valuable chemical raw materials are increasing especially after the"Shale GasRevolution”.However,on the other hand,it is well known that development of thosecatalysts is very difficult because of the particularly high C-H bond dissociation energies oflight alkanes.In order to overcome this difficulty,novel design of efficient catalysts forlight alkane conversion is strongly desired.Herein,we demonstrate remarkableenhancement of catalytic activity for light alkane oxidation of a μ-nitrido-bridged ironphthalocyanine dimer which is known asone of the most potent molecule-basedcatalyst by simple adsorption onto a graphitesurface.
