Single-cell level cytokine detection is important to understand of the heterogeneity ofcellular cytokine secretion.Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) technique hasattracted great attentions for biosensing due to its compactness,durability,and label-freecapability.In this study,a simple synergistic integration of cell trapping microwell chip andgold-capped nanopillar with cauliflower-like surface structured cyclo-olefin-polymer (COP)film was fabricated for single cell level Interleukin 6 (IL-6) detection.Here,in-situ cytokinesecreted from the trapped cell can be directly observed and analyzed through the red-shift inthe transmittance spectrum.The fabricated device also shows the potential to conductreal-time monitoring which would greatly help us identify the viability and biologicalvariation of the tested single cell.
