Contemporary enterprises of sustainable development, try to optimize the use of resources. Medium-term planning is one of the main elements of the MRP Ⅱ production management systems, in which the key result of planning is the development of a production plan. That plan enables to meet the forecast demand for products and services on the basis of the resources engaged for this purpose in the accepted term. The aim of this article is to indicate the possibility of increasing the accuracy of informal methods in production planning, in particular graphic-table techniques with the use of an IT tool. The work discusses decision-making options and strategies for balancing projected demand with available production capacities.
