PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production plan optimization system optimizing both of an assembly plan of an ordered product and a procurement plan of parts necessary for assembly of the ordered product, and a production plan optimization method.SOLUTION: A production plan optimization system comprises: a computing device 20 creating an assembly plan and a parts procurement plan; and an output device 60 outputting the plans created. The computing device 20 calculates a plurality of assembly plan candidates based on first data indicating a type of an ordered product, second data indicating a delivery date of the ordered product and a plurality of assembly conditions. The computing device 20 determines an assembly plan candidate having the best assembly plan candidate evaluation value as the assembly plan out of the plurality of assembly plan candidates. In the same manner, the computing device determines a parts procurement plan candidate having the best parts procurement plan candidate evaluation value as the parts procurement plan out of a plurality of parts procurement plan candidates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
