Synthetic Studies of a Silylene Complex of Calix4arene

摘要

Silylene, a silicon analog of carbene, has been extensively studied for its structure and unique reactivities. Although various two-coordinated silylenes have been isolated, those with chalcogen substituents are quite rare, because the bulkiness of chalcogen substituents are generally insufficient to stabilize the silicon center. We focus on calix[4]arene whose bulkiness can be controled by changing protecting groups on the phenol moieties. Here we report synthesis of SiCl2-bridged calixarene and its attempted reduction.
