Introduction Poloidal asymmetries in the midplane edge density profiles develop according to the divertor detachment state in the ASDEX-Upgrade Tokamak (AUG)[1]. The appearance of a High Field Side High Density Front (HFSHD) associated with inner divertor (ID) detachment has been reported [2, 3]. This HFSHD is located in the Scrape-Off Layer (SOL), at the height of the X-point, and can propagate upwards to the midplane, as measured by the Low-Field-Side (LFS)/High-Field-Side (HFS) O-mode Reflectometer.
