摘要

Pr~(3+)-doped borate glasses of the composition 10PbO - 20Na_2O -10MO - 60B_2O_3-XPr_2O_3 with M= Ba, Sr, Ca, and X= 0, 0.1,0.3,0.5 mol% were prepared by melt-quenching method. UV-Vis absorption measurements were made to examine the influence of Pr~(3+) concentration on optical properties. From the absorption edge data, indirect, direct band gap and urbach energy is calculated and tabulated. Energy band gap and Urbach energy detailed studied made to know the changes due to the incorporation of different alkaline earth metal ions.
