Dimensional acupuncture therapy in clinical application of brachial plexus injury

Brachial plexus injury can occur as a result of trauma, inflammation or complications associated with general anesthesia. Trauma may be a direct blow, traction or stretch injury between neck and shoulder damaging the plexus to varying degrees. The prognosis depends on the extent and site of injury as well as the surgical procedures. We herein report two cases of brachial plexus injury: one was brachial plexus block complication under regional anesthesia, and the other was caused by motorcycle accident. Two patients had a good therapeutic effect after receiving the dimensional acupuncture therapy (DAT). The therapeutic principles of DAT between lesion site and acupuncture points as to upper-lower, left-right, interior-exterior and anterior-posterior positions served as an immediate treatment.
