摘要

Selenium (Se) deficiencies in animal nutrition have major implications for humans regarding the Se enrichment of some fodder and food sources. In the southeastern part of Romania, there have been reported Se deficiencies in the soil-wheat plant system, with potentially negative effects on animal and human nutrition (L?c?tu?u et al., 2002, 2012). As a result, Se is frequently administered in animal feed, and when necessary, Se is supplemented in human nutrition. To eliminate these issues related to Sedeficiencies, research has been performed on growing Se-rich plants in greenhouse and field experiments, and also, at an early phase, research on the possibility to get an organic fertilizer Se-rich, made of some organic waste composting. This study shows the necessity and possibility on biofortifying plants with Se that are used as fodder and vegetable foods.
