The sintering of the nickel-chromium alloys NiCr20AlSi, Inconel 600 and stainless steel 316L bimodal powders prepared by electrical explosion of wires was studied. The densification in dependence from temperature was investigated. The densification was shown to begin at 600°C and completion of the sintering was found at 1200°C with relative density to be 0.90-0.99. Full density close to theoretical was reached for the Inconel 600 and SS 316L. Encapsulation was shown to decrease the sintering temperature and increase the sintering rate.
