Interventional Radiology: Lessons Learned Over 15 Years of Discovery

Interventional Radiology (IR) involves the use of contemporary imaging modalities to gain access to different structures in order to deliver materials for therapeutic purposes. Over the last decade, IR has become a relatively well-known entity in veterinary medicine. The arrival of these techniques into the "mainstream" of veterinary medicine can be demonstrated by the growing number of journal articles published using these techniques as well as "reported sightings" on recent medicine and surgery board certification examinations.
