In order to evaluate the economic benefit of the different energy-saving technologies of gasoline engine such as Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), Dual Variable Valve Timing (DVVT), Variable Intake System (VIS), etc., a system dynamic model was established with the software Vensim. In the model, the add-on costs of these technologies, the energy-saving rate, fuel price, fuel consumption per hundred kilometers and the accumulative mileage were selected as the main variables. Then a simulation from 2015 to 2024 was conducted, by which those technologies' economic benefit was analyzed and some conclusions were obtained.
