Energy issues are now of national strategic importance. How to handle them properly tests every government's ability to make energy management decision. The energy policy of the U.S. focus on energy conservation, energy efficiency, energy technologies, relationship between energy and environment, energy security, etc. China also has measures in these areas. China and the U.S. are hugely different in energy efficiency, energy marketization, energy mix policies, support for new energy, long-term energy development objectives, measures to safeguard energy security, etc. This article analyzes the two countries' similarities and differences in energy policies.
