(S1.27-S0007)Deformation behavior of the directionally solidified Mg-LPSO alloy with respect to the orientation and the temperature of the deformation
Recently, Mg alloys containing LPSO phase due to their enhanced mechanical properties andpromising high-temperature properties in comparison to the conventional alloys have been received considerableattention as promising material for airplane and automobile industry. It is generally agreed, that besides the dislocationslip, deformation kinking and twinning contribute to the plastic deformation of Mg-LPSO alloys. Twinning was foundrarely in Mg-LPSO alloys (for particular sample compositions and texture), while deformation kinking is morecharacteristic for such materials. It was shown that, formation of kinks significantly depends on materials parameters(e.g. shape and orientation of LPSO phase, grain size, texture) as well as on experimental conditions (loading direction, temperature etc.). Nevertheless, the conditions for kink and twinning activation at different deformation temperatureneeds further investigation.
