Mycobacterium tuberculosis Antigen-Specific IL-2R and IP-10 Expression Changes in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients with in Latent Tuberculosis Infection
According to World Health Organization (WHO) report, one third of the world's population is latently infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). Individuals with latent tuberculosis (TB) infection (LTBI) have the potential possibility for developing active TB during their lifetime. Previous studies have reported that 5 to 10% of LTBI individual progress to an active TB and the conversion rate from LTBI to active TB is greater in immunocompromised individuals such as HIV patients and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients.
