As a new type of ship, the wave-piercing catamaran is gradually playing an important role in high-speed transportation of passenger areas. Research on wave-piercing catamaran's motion in different sea conditions has great significance. This paper calculated the amplitude response function of the pitch, heave, and roll motion of the wave-piercing catamaran with the 3-D potential flow theory, and calculated the ways of motion in different sea conditions with spectral analysis methods. By comparing the calculation results and test results when the forward speed of the ship was zero, verified the applicability of 3-D potential flow theory to the catamaran. Finally, the study analyzed the ways of motion in different sea conditions.
