Research on the causes and characteristics of migrant workers' overtime work

摘要

Based on the migrant workers in cities as investigation object, this paper uses the logit econometric model to analyses the reasons of migrant workers' overtime work. The results show that migrant workers' employment, income and self-development has a larger influence on the decision of the overtime work, while the family pressure and individual characteristics have no significant effect. And uses the logistic model to get the independent variable on the dependent variable marginal effects, among which the wage arrears, the will of staying in the city and aspirations of migrant workers to get into the city has the most obvious marginal effect of the choice to work overtime.
