Attitude testing platforms are used to simulate the space environment and the conditions that the attitude control system (ACS) will face during its operation. In this paper, our effort to emulate similar environment and ACS operation conditions on a testing platform optimized for lean satellites is presented. Because we are targeting the test of ACS based on electric propulsion systems, we considered the use of low friction attitude simulator using an air bearing table, working in vacuum environment. Regarding the development of the testbed, we characterized the behavior of the airflow into a vacuum. Then, we studied the thrust force produced by electric propulsion thruster by the contribution to the momentum on the test platform.
