The environment has transmitters (8) transmitting global navigation satellite system (GNSS) compatible signals in a test field, and an earth station with a processing device. A user navigation receiver (11) i.e. series device, to be tested receives the signals of the transmitters and satellite signals. A sender attached to the receiver transmits geographical position determined over reference system i.e. global positioning system (GPS), at the station. The processing device has a unit for evaluating the signals transmitted by the transmitters using the position. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a series satellite navigation receiver.
