Urine is excreted at core temperature, 37°C. A noncontact matrix temperature sensor was placed under a toilet seat to evaluate urination volume. The matrix temperature sensor simultaneously measured the temperature of sixteen areas. In this preliminary study, the temperatures within the measurement areas temporarily rose when water of 37°C flowed in front of the sensor. The integrated temperature change increased in the sixteen areas value with increasing water volume, and it decreased with increasing water flow rate. The integrated value of the square of the temperature change for the sixteen areas increased with increasing water volume, but it was constant with the increase in water flow rate.
