The aim of this study was to analyze the survival rates of the yeast-like fungus A. pullulans Ap1 on the leaves of spring wheat cv. Sumai, and the ability of A. pullulans to induce the resistance of wheat seedlings to F. culmorum infections. The maximum cell density of A. pullulans was observed on the leaves of wheat seedlings 24 hours after its application. Depending on the time interval between the application of A. pullulans and F. culmorum to wheat plants, the effectiveness of protective treatment ranged from 34.79% to 64.84%. In wheat seedlings whose resistance response was elicited with A. pullulans, the activity of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) increased by 83.48%.
